Tell you what, they've been on a proper COVID 19 journey, weddings. From the mass cancellations of early 2020, to tentative rebooking on a more intimate scale later that year, to the return of bigger celebrations in 2021, and now the latest variant rearing its unwelcome head as we move into 2022....it's been a tough time for the industry, especially with such scant support from government for hospitality at large.
It hasn't been straightforward for couples either, of course. While I'm sure some people have half-welcomed the excuse to downsize their wedding guest numbers, those for whom a lengthy guest list is a cultural imperative have been struggling. One client alone rebooked their wedding four times in the space of 18 months, and I know of similar situations for a number of others. But let's look forward with hope.
